This, to me, is a feat of computer science and engineering that I, a casual curious observer, can relate to instantly. I understand the process it takes to build such a thing, and I understand how much of an undertaking it is – and I don't need to understand exactly how it's built to enjoy it. It may well be a rudimentary 3D engine, and it may well serve no purpose in colloquial terms, but this kind of thing never fails to impress me – like a working CPU within Dwarf Fortress or a working word processor in Minecraft
